1. Answer the question in one clear claim.
2. Name Daly’s selection, Lorde’s question or the non-response.

Model: “Lorde treats selective representation as a form of power. Daly uses non-European women mainly when describing brutal victimization but does not present them as creators of knowledge. Tone

Respectful language does not weaken criticism

Trace the progression: gratitude, hesitation, precise questions, disappointment and public urgency. Lorde wishes Daly strength and acknowledges intellectual benefit before identifying harm. This balance establishes ethical credibility. Avoid describing the tone as only angry; controlled anger, grief and hope for dialogue operate together.

Use the typical sequence opinion → size → age → shape → colour → origin → material → purpose → noun. Natural writing usually needs only two or three adjectives.

Writing

Short account versus article

• Short account: chronologically reports who, what, when, where, response and outcome.
• Article: uses a title, public issue, evidence-led paragraphs, counterpoint and recommendation.
• Account tense: usually past for completed events.
• Article tone: formal but readable, with justified claims rather than slogans.

For an article on inclusive leadership, define exclusion, explain one mechanism such as tokenism, give an example, acknowledge a counterpoint, and recommend accountable participation.

From quotation clue to a defensible paragraph

If a question refers to the limited images available to Black women, begin with Lorde’s distinction between being displayed as a victim and being recognized as a source of history, spirituality and political knowledge. Then connect that selection to authority: a book that claims to speak about women generally cannot treat white experience as the unmarked centre. Do not invent a personal motive for Daly. Analyse the effect of the published framework and the later absence of a reply.

For comparison questions, separate shared feminist purpose from unequal method. Lorde does not reject solidarity; she argues that solidarity fails when difference is acknowledged only as decoration. A high-scoring conclusion therefore returns to accountable coalition: citation, listening and revision must allow the women previously placed at the margins to change the central analysis.
