What C Arrays and Strings means physically

An array stores a fixed sequence of same-type elements in contiguous positions indexed from zero. A C string is a character array terminated by the null character.

For an array of n elements, valid indices are 0 through n−1. Reserve space for the terminating \0 when storing a string and pass the array length when a function needs bounds.
