Starting from y=x², y=−2(x−3)²+1 has vertex (3,1), opens downward and is vertically stretched by factor 2.
The governing relationship is From y=f(x), y=f(x−h)+k shifts right h and up k; y=af(bx) changes vertical and horizontal scales and may reflect the graph. Check the convention, geometry or boundary condition before calculation.
