Record the date beside each code. A chapter at R3 today should be checked again after two or three days and then one week later.

Language development

Map the twenty thematic units by transferable skill

Units 1–5

Critical Thinking, Family, Sports, Technology and Education. Prioritize argument, comparison, cause–effect and formal response.

Units 6–10

Money and Economy, Humour, Human Culture, Ecology, and Career Opportunities. Practise tone, evidence, data, report and application writing.

Units 11–15

Hobbies, Animal World, History, Human Rights and Leisure and Entertainment. Build vocabulary families, chronology, opinion-evidence and audience awareness.

Units 16–20

Fantasy, War and Peace, Music and Creation, Migration and Diaspora, and Power and Politics. Focus on inference, viewpoint, evaluation and critical writing.

For each unit create one page with gist, ten useful words, the grammar/function target, one writing outline and three self-test questions.

Mock-test sequence

Use testing to diagnose, not only score

  1. Attempt under the actual time limit without notes.
  2. Mark uncertain answers before checking anything.
  3. Classify each error: knowledge, interpretation, instruction, language or time.
  4. Rewrite the weakest response completely.
  5. Retest the same skill with a different chapter after two days.

Roadmap repair

Avoid revision habits that create false confidence

  • Highlighting is not retrieval; close the book and reconstruct meaning.
  • Reading every chapter equally ignores your actual error pattern.
  • Copying model answers does not prove you can produce one.
  • Completing chapters once without delayed review causes rapid forgetting.
  • Practising literature alone leaves unseen reading and writing vulnerable.
  • Taking mocks without correcting them repeats the same mistakes.
