This is a reasoning frame, not a quotation to memorise. Verify exact wording in the CDC textbook. A precise paraphrase is safer than an inaccurate quotation, but the best answer follows the evidence rules provided by the teacher or examination.

For environmental contrast, pair a description of intense human interference with the temporary pause in activity. Explain that the contrast reveals pressure on natural systems; do not claim that lockdown permanently repaired the environment.

The paragraph works because every sentence has a job: claim, device, effect, evidence-based theme and qualified judgement. It avoids biography, unsupported scientific claims and plot-like summary.

Use a four-part response under time

1. Introduction: answer the question and identify the speaker’s larger purpose.
2. Paragraph one: analyse personification, direct address and reversal of authority.
3. Paragraph two: analyse irony or the contrast between human activity and environmental pause.
4. Conclusion: judge the warning carefully and connect it to responsibility without turning the answer into a general speech.

Allow two minutes to plan, most of the time to write, and the final two minutes to check title, relevance, paragraphing and language. Underline the command word before starting.

Correct the first weak decision

• “The poem is about coronavirus.” Make the claim specific: human pride, environmental exploitation or responsibility.
• “Personification is used.” Explain the reversal and its effect on the reader.
• “Nature became perfect.” Use qualified language about temporary environmental relief.
• “The poet says…” Distinguish the constructed speaker from the author unless the question asks about authorship.
• Long quotation. Choose a precise detail and spend more words interpreting it.

Keep an error log with four labels: relevance, evidence, explanation and expression. Rewrite the faulty sentence, then answer a related question after two days without looking at the correction.
