Turn Paper and Pulp into retrievable knowledge

Pulping separates cellulose fibres from lignin and other components mechanically or chemically. Papermaking then forms, presses and dries a fibre web with additives as needed.

1. Map prerequisites and definitions.
2. Derive or justify the main relation: Material and water balances organize yield, chemical recovery and effluent; bleaching chemistry must be evaluated for selectivity and by-products.
3. Redraw diagrams from memory.

Place easily confused ideas side by side. Write what stays fixed, what changes, the governing equation and the observable consequence. One high-value warning is: Equating pulp with paper, saying bleaching merely adds white dye, or ignoring water treatment and fibre recycling limits.

First identify the system and what the question asks. Label the diagram, apparatus or reaction with SI quantities, then state the principle before selecting an equation. Solve symbolically where possible and check units, limiting cases and chemical or physical meaning.
